The Program Associate works under the supervision of the Northern Berkshire Neighbors Coordinator to oversee the programmatic and logistical usage of the UNO Community Center, promote neighborhood and community development, and develop and maintain meaningful, healthy, and empowering relationships with Northern Berkshire residents involved in nbCC projects.

Reports to & Supervised by: Northern Berkshire Neighbors Coordinator
Hours: 18.75/week

Responsibilities: Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to the following;

nBn General Program Responsibilities:
-Support and assist the Northern Berkshire Neighbors' Coordinator with the following programs and events; Community Outreach Volunteers, Community Recognition Awards (Neighborlies), National Night Out, nbCC Forums (as assigned), and any neighborhood specific events or leadership development trainings.
-Assist with note taking, record keeping, and report writing for nBn projects.

UNO Community Center Manager:
-Vet potential programs and facilitators (unaffiliated with an agency/organization).
-Direct interested facilitators to fill out a Program Proposal for future programming. When there are calendar openings, review existing Program Proposals.
-Work with Coordinator to determine potential facilitators group management and presentation skills; mitigate potential issues with Coordinator and facilitator
-Coordinate the completion of CORI forms with Business Manager for any facilitators, presenters, etc.
-Manage the events and programs schedule:
-Schedule programs when there are openings, ensuring no double-bookings, while encouraging self-management of the calendar by facilitators.
-Assist neighbors in navigating calendar program.
-Register program participants and make reminder phone calls when required.
-Check-in with facilitators a week before scheduled programs.
-Manage rental use
-Meet with potential renters: go over Rental Use Agreement Form, expectations for use of space, parking, trash disposal, keys, pay structure, and opening & closing times.
-Collect signed Rental Use Agreement Form, appropriate rental fee and/or community service documentation.
-Open and close UNO Community Center on the day of the rental, as well as manage key distribution and key return.
-Manage volunteer staffing of the UNO Community Center.
-Manage UNO Community Center social media and marketing of events and programs.
-Oversee internal programming, such as the monthly cooking showcase, and be present on the day/evening of the program.
-Outreach to community residents, social service agencies and community organizations to run programming at the Community Center.
-Oversee the UNO Steering Committee, which is responsible for building use oversight.
-Encourage greater neighborhood participation in programming and decision-making involvement.
-Develop opportunities for social interaction amongst neighbors.
-Determine childcare needs of registered participants and coordinate appropriately with established volunteers or The Family Place, when required.
-Ensure the community center maintains a respectful atmosphere at all times (space is picked up, language is appropriate, and everyone is treated with respect).
-Manage supplies, purchasing, and maintenance needs of the center.
-Oversee the evaluation of internal programs.

General nbCC Administrative Responsibilities:
-Supervise interns and volunteers as assigned.
-Write short articles on nBn activities for the monthly newsletter and other internal and external reports.
-Coordinate transportation for nBn activities and events.
-Assist with grant writing and review when applicable and appropriate.
-Participate in the following regular meetings: Monthly nbCC Forums, MLK Day of Service Committee, and regular staff and supervisory meetings.
-Other administrative duties as assigned.
