DESCRIPTION
The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Homework House programs, supporting and enhancing the tutoring/learning process, including working closely with the Holyoke Public schools, student evaluation and curriculum development, supervising staff and recruiting and training volunteer tutors.

Mission and Program:
1. Keeps the organizational mission and values at the forefront of Homework House’s work and before the eyes of the children, assistant site supervisors, and volunteer tutors.
2. Takes responsibility for the relationship with the public schools, cooperating agencies, and host sites.
3. Is responsible for registration of students throughout the year.
4. Serves as liaison in collaborating with the Public Schools Office for the snack program and submitting reports.
5. Serves as contact with public school administrators and personnel referring children to Homework House.
6. Communicates with the families of the children enrolled in Homework House.
7. Recruits and assists in the training of tutors, and serves as liaison with cooperating colleges and high schools.
8. Oversees the outreach elements of operations day to day and makes adaptations for mission effectiveness.
9. Attends training sessions and meetings of the various civic, educational, and charitable agencies key to Homework House operations and support.
10. Reports regularly to the Executive Director and, as needed, to the Board of Directors.
11. Keeps daily records required for the fulfillment of all these tasks.
12. Other duties as assigned

2. Bilingual/bicultural background and sensitivity
3. Computer skills
4. Organizational skills and willingness to follow through on tasks
5. Readiness as self-starter and initiator
6. Commitment to serving poor and marginalized people
7. Flexibility and willingness to do whatever the daily tasks involve
8. Self-awareness as mentor and role model for children, families, staff, and volunteers
9. Travel and reliable transportation required.

SALARY
Minimum: $37,000.00
Maximum: $40,000.00

Bilingual Spanish/English

4-year degree
