Job Summary

There is an IMMEDIATE OPENING for a PSYCHIATRIC PRESCRIBER in our dynamic, multicultural, multiracial, multilingual outpatient mental health facility located at 130 Maple Street, Springfield, MA, with over 25 years presence in this community. Our current medical staff includes Moris Pardo, M.D., a well-known and established figure in the psychiatric field. Our staff are from many disciplines and from all over the world, including Poland, Russia, Venezuela, Columbia, and Mexico! We welcome diversity!

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will serve in a vital role of providing comprehensive mental health care for clients in this needy community of Western Mass.

REQUIREMENTS

Masters Degree
Nurse License in good standing in MA
Must have full prescriptive powers in Massachusetts with a DEA number
Maintain nursing license requirements through continuing education and training
Collaborate with clinical staff to determine best treatment plan and outcomes for the client
Utilize supervision as needed for support, feedback/guidance, and to process difficult cases
Assist management in developing program policy, plans and expectations for clients receiving medication management services
Ability to work with individuals and groups from diverse populations; bilingual/bicultural preferred
Represent the agency effectively and professionally
Maintain the quality of psychiatric services offered by the agency
Maintain professionalism in the workplace including professional boundaries and codes of ethics
Maintain and support the mission and goals of the agency
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

The Nurse's function is to evaluate and assess clients’ needs for psychopharmacological interventions and monitor clients to assess symptom management, side effects and efficacy of prescribed medications, and counsel clients regarding compliancy, dosing, side effects and any other necessary education that will benefit the client.

The Nurse will have a Psychiatric Coordinator who will assist with correspondence, pharmacy coordination, and client issues. There is a supportive and loyal environment.
